At the beginning of October 2013, we moved into our new home at Mr Bardeslaan 18, Amstelveen, 1181NP. The unpacking commenced, and luckily it all went very smoothly.
The Netherlands are famous for their cheese and flower markets. So much choice and cheaper than anywhere else. I'm looking forward to having flowers in my house all the time!
The boys joined Amstelveen Rugby Club. Andrew is playing for the Juniors and Rory is playing for the Cubs. The boys are enjoying it, but Mum is not enjoying seeing all the rough tackles!!
Andrew turned 16 just as we arrived in Amsterdam We spent a fun day in the city and then had dinner with Jim, Yvonne, Bart, Romee & Emily. Gefeliciteerd Andrew!
The boys started at The International School of Amsterdam in August 2013. The school is located in Amstelveen, which is a suburb South of Amsterdam. Andrew is now in Grade 11, and will take the IB Diploma, and Rory is now in Grade 9.
We had a super weekend up at Clashmore with all the Paterson family.We had not been together since Brodie's christening, so it was a lovely to get together. All of the cousins had great fun playing together!
The first thing that hits you in Amsterdam are the bikes, literally! There are hundreds of bikes everywhere, tied to every lamp post, and even more on the bike paths.
Then you see all the boats which are scattered everywhere on all the canals, some for pleasure, some for business, and lots of house boats.
